My 1st Triathlon
Story
At the age of 50, I am attempting my very first Triathlon.
On Saturday 18th February I will be swimming 300 m, riding by bike 10kms and then running for 2kms. To many trained athletes, these distances would seem very short, but I can assure you, they will feel like a marathon to me! Thankfully there is an 'old ducks race' (over 40’s section) for old girls like me. I do not expect a place and will be very happy if I manage to finish the event! A bonus would be not to be last over the finish line.
I have been in training for some months now and would love to think that I can also raise some money for our brothers and sisters who do not have anywhere near the same opportunities as us. I have met women who would have to exhort the same level of energy every day just to obtain their families water supply.
Please sponsor me so that others are able to live a life of dignity with: clean water, nutritious food, elementary education, viable employment and essential healthcare.
